So I have been farming my brains out on heroics since I returned to wow. I've also upgraded all the gear I can from drops and gotten full badge T9. I'm stuck now waiting on more Frost emblems for better upgrades (cloak etc).

I hopped into ICC 10m last night and pull miserable damage 3.4-3.9k (bout half overall from dps 1 up on meters). I feel like I've hit a wall when it comes to upgrades now and think I need to hit some raids but am unsure on where to start.

Have I missed good upgrades from heroics or badges? To gather frost emblems takes time only getting 2 per day and Triumph gear is just about done, think I can upgrade another ring or something /shrug.

So again am I missing any gear upgrades -non raid?
Should I swap specs to Arcane till I get better gear? (lower my needed HIT and regem for more haste/SP)?

Current gear score is somewhere around 4550 and here is my armory.

Even with top gear, arcane is one of the goto specs for high DPS.

Quite a few things that would help out...

1. Max out your professions to get the full benefit. Tailoring - embroider!!!!
2. Gear - Couple of level 200 items. There is options to upgrade outside of raids. Research.
3. Study recount. Perfect your technique.

Study the DPS charts that have a HIGH dps mage. Study his spec and rotation. Copy and improve.

There is still a debate on arcane and fire. Fire still seems to overtake arcane if the fight is long enough, if not arcane is probably the way to go. Really just depends on the fight also. ICC has some very SHITTY fights for mages to show their good numbers.

Yea Ive noticed on longer fights the DPS starts off amazing but tapers off towards the end aftger your CD's expire. But last night i pulled 11k dps on that extra boss in OK. THAT was fun!

SS or it didnt happen and we are only bringing you for the mage table and AI!

lol ya I didn't take a SS. Now that I think about it, don't you get a buff or whatever fromt he shrooms if you kill them? I remember the DK blowing up half of them with DND or soemthing. Maybe that helped a 'tad'

the buff removes a curse. I dont think it does extra dmg or anything.

The mushroom buff increases your damage done by 100% in addition to removing the Mini debuff.

Yea I thougth so Rage. Twas a bit much dmg for a poorly geared mage at the time.
